How many dimensions does your learning framework have? In this workshop, speakers share different models and frameworks for engaging undergraduates in STEM learning. First, Dr. Melanie Cooper will discuss Three-Dimensional Learning (3DL), how and why 3DL supports the use of knowledge, and tools to both characterize faculty’s own instruction and assessments and to support 3D instructional environments and assessment items. Next, Dr. Luanna Prevost provides an overview of the Four-Dimensional Ecology Education (4DEE) framework, discusses the impact of ecology, allows attendees to reflect on how the framework applies to their discipline, and provides information and resources to further engage with 4DEE.
