Speaker(s):
How do we create meaningful and engaging research opportunities for undergraduate STEM students? In this workshop, speakers share their experiences implementing course-based undergraduate research experiences (CUREs). First, Dr. Allan Feldman discusses how to develop and implement a CURE by describing a course piloted in Fall 2021. He will provide access to course materials and evidence showing the development of research skills in STEM undergraduates. Next, Dr. Lina Dahlberg introduces a model for collaborative CUREs that allows students to participate in multi-level or multi-disciplinary research questions. She will reveal how to identify ways in which participants can introduce components of a collaborative CURE curriculum, even if a fully collaborative CURE is not immediately realistic.
