An Emerging Theory of Change Model for Integrating Undergraduate Research into Departmental and Institutional Cultures

In this workshop, Dr. Mitchell Malachowski and Dr. Jeffrey M. Osborn, with the Council on Undergraduate Research’s (CUR) Transformation Project, will discuss their project’s Theory of Change model aimed at integrating undergraduate research into department and culture changes. Topics such as creating effective leadership teams, producing effective decision-making processes, dealing with faculty workload, and collecting learning assessment data are some of the issues that will be discussed. This workshop will focus on the faculty and departmental culture portions of the Theory of Change model and will feature examples from universities that implemented this Theory of Change model. Participants in this workshop can expect to generate their own plan to return to their campuses.
