
Michael Schuckers, Ph.D.

Dr. Michael Schuckers is a Professor of Sports Analytics and Data Science at UNC
Charlotte. He has published extensively in sports analytics, particularly for ice hockey, is an Associate Editor for the Journal of Quantitative Analysis in Sports, and was the 2013 winner of the Significant Contributor Award from the Section on Statistics and Sports of the American Statistical Association. A former Fulbright Scholar in Finland, he has received research funding from the National Science Foundation (NSF), the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Defense, and the Center for Identification Technology Research. Currently he is a co-PI and Editor of the NSF-funded SCORE Network. Before joining UNC Charlotte, Dr. Schuckers was a Charles A. Dana Professor of Statistics and Data Science at St. Lawrence University. Additionally, he has consulted for professional baseball and hockey teams and is a co-founder of Statistical Sports Consulting, LLC.
