Dr. Kimshi Hickman is the Assistant Vice Provost for Retention and Completion at The University of Texas at Arlington.
Kimshi has served in higher education for over 20 years in student affairs, enrollment management and academic affairs. Her career focus for the past 10 years has been on increasing retention and graduation rates through work in academic support programs such as Peer-Led Team Learning (PLTL) and Supplemental Instruction and through retention focused initiatives that address barriers students face in persistence.
Research interests: Effectiveness of academic support models with underrepresented students, FTIC persistence, and transfer persistence.
