Inyoung Kim is a Professor in the Department of Statistics at Virginia Tech.
She received her PhD under the direction of Raymond J. Carroll in the Department of Statistics at Texas A&M University and was trained as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow under the direction of Hongyu Zhao in the Department of Biostatistics at Yale University. She received her MS in the Department of Applied Statistics at Yonsei University, Republic of Korea. Dr. Kim has developed semiparametric and nonparametric functional methods for highly correlated and high-dimensional data. She is interested in developing both frequentist and Bayesian methods and is motivated by real problems that need to be addressed with suitable statistical methodology.
