Hengchun (Haley) Ye, Ph.D.

Dr. Ye is the Dean of Graduate Studies and Research at California State University (CSU), Stanislaus.

Dr. Ye received a Ph.D. in climatology from the University of Delaware and had three tenure-track positions at Emporia State University, University of Idaho, and CSU, Los Angeles (LA).  She served remarkably diversity student for 20 years as a faculty member, chair, and associate dean at CSULA before she became the dean of Graduate Studies and Research at CSU, Stanislaus.

Dr. Ye was the founding director of the NASA Data Intensive Research and Education Center for STEM (DIRECT-STEM). Through this multi-disciplinary center, she has built strong partnerships with the University of California, Irvine (UCI), Michigan Space Grant Consortium (of eleven Michigan universities), Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), Ames Research Center (ARC), and the Armstrong Flight Research Center (AFRC) to promote research development for students and faculty at Cal State LA. Dr. Ye also serves as co-PI on the NSF (National Science Foundation) Big Data Spokes grant which awarded Cal State LA to implement an innovative big data project in partnership with the City of Los Angeles and Community Partners.

Among many accomplishments, Dr. Ye received the Distinguished Women Award and the President’s Outstanding Faculty Award from CSULA. She was also a graduate of the 2018 Higher Education Resource Services (HERS) Institute. She is a well-recognized scholar in her field with many high impact publications and research grants. Dr. Ye is dedicated to increase the diversity of STEM professions.
