Eric Baer has a Bachelor’s from Carleton College and Ph.D. in volcanology from UCSB. He is the Chair of the Pure and Applied Sciences Division at Highline Community College in Washington state, where he has taught geology for 25 years. Baer has been the PI on the IUSE-funded SAGE 2YC projects, which help two-year college geoscience faculty implement high-impact, evidence-based instructional and co-curricular practices. He was also a PI on “The Math You Need When You Need It,” a project to develop and test online quantitative support modules for introductory geoscience students. He serves as a Co-PI and advisory board member on several other NSF-funded projects.
