This workshop will provide an overview of a professional development curriculum that supports community college STEM faculty who want to infuse climate justice and civic engagement into their 100- and 200-level courses. The curriculum was originally developed by Bellevue College in 2018 and has been co-developed in collaboration with North Seattle College since 2020. The workshop will begin with an overview the professional development curriculum and then engage workshop participants in an interdisciplinary group brainstorming process that is a highlight of the curriculum. The workshop will close with preliminary results of pre-post student and faculty perception surveys and case study analyses, along with focus groups and interviews, that reveal the faculty and student experience of climate justice and civic engagement in STEM courses.
