Keith Sverdrup received his Bachelor of Science degree in Geophysics from the University of Minnesota and his PhD in Geoscience from the Scripps Institution of Oceanography at the University of California-San Diego where he participated in multiple research cruises throughout the Pacific Ocean basin.He was on the faculty of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM) for 36 years as a Professor of Geophysics(seismology). Keith served as a program officer at NSF for six years while at UWM.After retiring fromUWM he returned to NSF EHR/DUE where he is the lead program officer for the S-STEM program. Keith is the author of three introductory oceanography textbooks and 60 papers and abstracts on seismology and tectonics. He is a life member of the American Geophysical Union and a Fellow of the geological society of America
