Learn about novel approaches to teaching and learning that build student confidence in working with data.

Dr. Lisa Dierker provides a behind-the-scenes look at Passion-Driven Statistics, a Course-Based Undergraduate Research Experience (CURE). This CURE engages students in authentic projects with large, real-world data to develop their own original research. The model is shown to attract higher rates of under-represented minority students, build confidence in working with data, and increase the likelihood of having a career working with data.
Dr. Ashley McDonald showcases the Molecular Sciences Software Institute (MolSSI), an education program that offers resources that allow faculty to develop discipline-specific curriculum to incorporate programming and data analysis into a range of STEM courses.
